At long last it has arrived -
ACCTI.
WHAT is it you ask?
IT is the ASSOCIATION OF
CANADIAN CORPORATIONS IN TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETATION.
WHY you may ask?
ACCTI's mission is to:
- represent the interests of Translation Companies nationwide;
- provide standards of quality to help companies be more marketable;
- give Canadian Translation companies a place to meet, fraternize, learn and improve; and,
- UNITE the language industry like it has never been before!
There are countless benefits to becoming a member, regardless of the level of membership chosen, so we
invite you to visit our web site
(
http://www.accti.org) and to become
a member. Doing so will allow you to reap the benefits of a united industry, and may provide your firm
with a salable mark of distinction.
ACCTI is an all-inclusive association that views the business of translation from a corporate perspective.
ACCTI promotes good principles of practice, aims to improve the technical and general knowledge of its members,
and encourages the settlement of disputes through arbitration. Countries worldwide have similar associations
(
http://www.euatc.org &
http://alcus.org), and have had excellent results.
Those who qualify as Voting Members attest adherence to the ACCTI Code of Professional Conduct, meet standard
business requirements, and use the ACCTI logo. Specialist Members comply with the most stringent criteria, and
may certify that services have been provided in compliance to a recognized ACCTI Quality Standard. All parties
interested in the business of translation may become non-voting members, participate at ACCTI events, and receive
newsletters.
If the sharing of information and unification of the industry are not reason enough to join, use of the ACCTI
logo in marketing materials and general correspondence is sure to pay dividends for years to come. Please feel
free to call or drop a line if you have any questions or concerns.
We look forward to your inquiries, and your membership.
Sincerely,
Paul Penzo
President
